Adding files or links

Desktop

  1. You must first be on the Business or Enterprise plan.
  2. Click Settings ⚙️ → Knowledge Base.

3. To add files, click Add File or hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Add File to Knowledge Base

Note: File size max is 50 MB.

4. To add links, click Add Link or hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Add Link to Knowledge Base.

Note: For every link, we also analyze every subpage. Only publicly accessible URLs can be added. URLs for LinkedIn, Facebook, social platforms, or published pages (Notion, Google Docs, Confluence, etc) cannot be added.

After you upload files and links, they are added to your Private Knowledge and are visible and accessible only to you.

Team Knowledge

With Team Knowledge, your whole team can move faster with messaging and answers that are grounded, accurate, and consistent.

Share a source with your team by turning on Share with team, making it available for Superhuman AI to reference for everyone on your Superhuman Mail team.

  • Personal: Bio, resume, contact mapping, addresses
  • Customer Success: Help Center, product FAQs, onboarding guides
  • Sales: Pitch decks, messaging, pricing, objection handling
  • Recruiting: Company perks, policies, salary bands
  • Legal & compliance: Certifications, security talking points

Mobile

You cannot add files or links on Mobile just yet.

Using Knowledge Base

Desktop

After you’ve added your files and links, you can use Knowledge Base with Write with AI and Ask AI!

  1. Hit Cmd+J or Ctrl+J for Write with AI or ? for Ask AI.
  2. Type your prompt.

Write with AI and Ask AI will look in the Knowledge Base for information to use.

💡 Tip: If Knowledge Base isn’t quite hitting the mark, let our team know by hitting the 👍 or 👎 buttons on any Superhuman AI response. This will send the feedback directly to our AI team about the prompt you put in and the response you received, so we can continue improving the experience.

Mobile

  1. Tap the ai icon when drafting for Write with AI, or tap the ai icon in the top left corner of the inbox for Ask AI.
  2. Type your prompt.

FAQs

What file types are supported?

Knowledge Base supports the following file types.

Who can see or access Knowledge Base content?

Private Knowledge Base content is only accessible by the individual. Team Knowledge Base content is accessible by any team member using Mail.

Can admins control access and permissions?

Anyone can add a source to the Team Knowledge Base. Admins, or any team members, can delete sources from the Team Knowledge Base.

How is data shared across teams?

Sources cannot be shared across different teams. A member who shares a source from their Private Knowledge Base to the Team Knowledge Base can unshare that source at any time.

Is my Knowledge Base data used to train Superhuman Mail’s AI models?

Knowledge Base data is not used to train Superhuman AI models.

Does Superhuman Mail or its vendors have access to the contents of my Knowledge Base?

Neither Mail nor its vendors have authenticated access to the encrypted files and free-form text in the Knowledge Base.

Can I personalize Superhuman AI’s voice and tone?

There isn’t a way to add style guides to your Knowledge Base just yet.

Can I integrate Knowledge Base with an external knowledge base?

We don’t have the option to directly integrate with an external knowledge base just yet.

Can I request to have my data deleted?

Yes. If you would like your data deleted, please reach out to hello@superhuman.com.
