Default Split Inboxes

Splits are intentional sections at the top of your inbox that help you stay focused and organized. They allow you to prioritize important messages first and efficiently handle similar types of emails in batches.

Next to each Split, you'll see the total number of conversations. If you've reached Inbox Zero in a Split or if the total exceeds 999, the count will not be displayed.

This setup minimizes distractions and helps you focus on key messages first.
  • Shared – Includes all conversations shared using Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Share Conversation or Comment, helping you collaborate more efficiently within your team.
  • Team — Contains all conversations with people who share your domain, making it easier to stay responsive as a manager or teammate. You can choose whether Team emails should also appear in the Important Split.
  • VIP — Captures all conversations involving people you classify as VIPs, ensuring you never miss their messages. VIP emails also appear in the Important Split by default, unless you disable this option.
  • News — Contains newsletters you’ve added to stay informed and up to date.
