Achieve Inbox Zero

Now that your inbox is organized, you’re all set to get to Inbox Zero.

Inbox Zero is the most efficient way to bring clarity to a chaotic inbox and focus on the messages that matter most. That’s why we designed Superhuman Mail to help you reach inbox zero every single day, no matter how many emails you currently have in your inbox.

To reach Inbox Zero, we recommend a simple but powerful workflow. Check out this short video or keep reading!

Instead of repeatedly marking emails unread when they need further attention, ask yourself:

  • Do I need to action this email today? Hit J to leave it in the inbox and move to the next.
  • Do I need to action this email another day? Hit H to set a Reminder for the day you need to action it.
  • Is this message done? Hit E to mark the message Done (Archive) or V to folder it. They'll never be deleted and will return if someone replies.

To see your Done emails, hit Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows)→ go to Done

To see all your Reminders, hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → go to Reminders.

⚡ Try It Now on Desktop

  1. Open the top conversations in your inbox.
  2. Read it and decide if it is for today, another day, or done (hit J, H, E).
  3. As soon as you action an email, you’ll immediately move to the next conversation. This keeps you in flow, minimizing distractions.
  4. Continue until you complete the final conversation and you’ll return to your inbox!

Your Split Inbox is now a task list, containing only new emails and those that require your attention soon. When you finish that task list you’ll be rewarded with our daily Inbox Zero image and a weekly streak 🏆

💡 Tip: Hide your Split Inboxes when they're empty to truly feel the magic of Inbox Zero 📭

Get Me To Zero

Getting to Inbox Zero the first time is the hardest because most of us have thousands of old email sitting in our inbox. But we’ve built just the tool for that!

Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Get Me To Zero to archive old emails so you don’t have to wear out your E key getting to Inbox Zero for the first time. Click More options... to save Unread or Starred/Flagged conversations if that’s how you previously marked important messages.

💡 Tip: Don’t leave a backlog of thousands of Unread conversations. Run Get Me To Zero a second time to clean up all of your Unread messages older than a month!
