No matter how fast we are, we all hit the same limit: the sheer time it takes to type. With Snippets, you can insert phrases, paragraphs, or whole emails to push past this limit.
Creating Snippets
There are a few ways to make Snippets:Β
- Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) β Create Snippet to make a Snippet.
- Cmd+K or Ctrl+K β Create snippet from draft to make a Snippet from a message you're drafting.
- Cmd+K or Ctrl+K β Create snippet from message to make a Snippet from a message you're reading.
π‘ Tip: Create Snippets for any messages you send frequently (e.g., follow-ups, outreach, hiring templates, greetings, replies to introductions, booking links).
Adding Variables and Placeholders in Snippets
The built-in variables will appear on the right after you hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K β Create Snippet.
You can use variables within your Snippets to have certain information (like a person's first name) automatically filled in when you insert your Snippet into a draft.
π‘ Tip: You can copy and paste the variables from the right sidebar into your Snippet.
You can also add placeholders by putting any word in curly brackets.Β
For example, if you create a Snippet saying, "Thank you so much for telling me about {your_company}! Unfortunately, this is not a good fit because {decline_reason}."
Superhuman Mail will show you a warning message if you hit Send without replacing that phrase in your email drafts.
