Imagine your inbox is overflowing, but you need to zero in on the most important messages. Sorting through everything manually can slow you down. Auto Labels cut through the noise and highlight what matters, so you can focus and reply to the important ones first.

Auto Label Library

⚡Try It Now on Desktop

Hit Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) → Auto Label Library. Then just click the Auto Label(s) you'd like to enable.

To turn off an Auto Label:

  1. Click Settings → Auto Labels
  2. Click ⚙️ next to the Auto Label.
  3. Select Turn off Auto Label.

Custom Auto Labels

If you’re on the Business or Enterprise plan, you can also create your own Auto Labels using deterministic and AI criteria by creating Custom Auto Labels! They allow you to tailor your email organization to match your unique workflow, priorities, and needs, making your inbox management more efficient. To upgrade your plan, visit superhuman.com/admin

⚡Try It Now on Desktop

  1. Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → New Auto Label.
  2. Click Build Your Own.
  3. Define your custom Auto Label.
    • Decide whether you want to start with deterministic criteria (From, To, Subject, etc.) or an AI prompt.
    • Combine multiple criteria using AND (for all criteria) or OR (for any criteria).
    • Click Add exclusions to set criteria for emails that should not receive the label.
  4. A preview section will appear on the right, analyzing conversations in real time and pulling results that match your current prompt.
  5. Click ✔️ or ✖️ next to a result to fine-tune the Auto Label.
  6. Click Create to finalize the custom Auto Label.

All new messages that match your prompt will automatically be assigned the new Auto Label, as well as messages from the past 14 days.

Editing Custom Auto Labels

On Desktop, click Settings → Auto Labels, and click ⚙️ next to the Auto Label to make changes. Custom Auto Labels cannot be edited on Mobile yet. 

Viewing Auto Labels

Desktop

  1. Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → go to [label].
  2. Or, hit the Left arrow key from the main inbox view to see all your labels.

Mobile

  1. From the top of your inbox, pull down then swipe right (like you’re making an L) for Superhuman Command. Type go to [label].
  2. Or, swipe up from the bottom of your inbox to see your labels.

Create Custom Split Inboxes with Auto Labels

Custom Splits enable you to personalize your inbox for improved organization and focus. They're especially useful for high-volume emails or messages you want to batch process efficiently.

⚡Try It Now on Desktop

  1. Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Split Inbox Library.
  2. Click Build Your Own.
  3. Under Name, enter the name of your new Split.
  4. Under Auto Labels, click Select Auto Labels that will show in this Split Inbox, and click the Auto Labels you want to include.
  5. Hit Create to add your new Split to the top of your inbox. 

You can access the Auto Label Library, create Custom Auto Labels, and create Custom Split Inboxes using Auto Labels on Mobile via Superhuman Command 📱
