Auto Reminders
Superhuman Mail will automatically remind you about emails that haven’t received a reply.
Desktop
- Click Settings ⚙️ → Reminders to customize your Auto Reminders.
- Set your Default Reminder time.
- Then, select which messages you want Mail to automatically remind you about if you haven’t received a reply.
- All messages that need a follow-up — Superhuman AI detects when a follow-up is needed based on your latest outgoing message if no reply has been received.
- All messages with an external recipient — Every email you send externally, even if a follow-up isn't needed.
- No messages — Turns off Auto Reminders.
You can also choose whether to apply Auto Reminders to Weekdays Only.

Auto Drafts (Business & Enterprise Plans)
Open your inbox to find every reply already drafted for you — written in your voice and tailored to each thread — so you can respond to what matters most in a fraction of the time.
Auto Drafts writes three types of replies automatically:
- Follow-ups — Superhuman AI will automatically draft a follow-up for emails still awaiting replies.
- Responses — Superhuman AI will automatically draft a response for messages that need a reply from you.
-
Scheduling — Superhuman AI will automatically draft a reply when someone asks to meet.
- To loop in a teammate for scheduling, check the box beside Add teammate on Cc to handle scheduling. Type their name in the “teammate” line, then type your AI prompt.
Desktop
- Click ⚙️ Settings → Auto Drafts.
- Toggle on the types of Auto Drafts you want.
- Your settings save automatically on Desktop, and carry over to Mobile.
Note that for now, enabling Auto Drafts for Responses will turn off Instant Reply.
💡 Tip: Use Write with AI to make edits to an Auto Draft, or fine-tune your style by clicking ⚙️ Settings → Personalization.
Mobile
- Pull down from the top of your inbox, then swipe right — like you’re making an “L” — for Superhuman Command.
- Type Auto Drafts Settings.
- Tap the account of your choice.
- Toggle on Auto Drafts for Follow-ups or Scheduling.
Auto Drafts for Responses isn't available as a Mobile setting, but if you enable it on Desktop, it will also work on Mobile.
Note that your drafts from Gmail and Outlook will sync with Mail.
How Auto Drafts work
Multiple versions
When more than one response makes sense, you’ll see chips at the top of the draft — click a chip to switch between versions.
Placeholders
When Superhuman AI can’t infer something — like a specific date or name — it leaves a placeholder for you to fill in. If a placeholder is still present when you hit send, Mail will alert you before the email goes out.
Stays fresh
Once a day, Mail checks your Auto Drafts and updates them if something has changed — like a time reference or new context from your inbox.
Editing
If you edit an Auto Draft, it becomes a regular draft and won’t be automatically updated.
FAQs
The Auto Drafts don't sound like me.
When you first enable Superhuman AI, we analyze a sample of your recent emails to get a sense of your tone and writing style. To fine-tune your style, click ⚙️ Settings → Personalization.
If the Auto Drafts aren’t quite hitting the mark after personalizing your AI settings, please hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Give Feedback on Auto Draft to select the Issues with tone or formality box.
That'll send the feedback directly to our AI team about the Auto Draft so we can continue improving the features.
How do I discard an Auto Draft draft?
Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Discard Draft or Cmd+Shift+, or Ctrl+Shift+,.
What happens if I mark a message Done with an Auto Draft?
This does not automatically discard the Auto Draft. The conversation will appear in your Done folder with the Auto Draft, or your Drafts folder when you hit G then D.
When is an Auto Draft added to a conversation?
Superhuman AI adds Auto Drafts in three situations:
- Follow-ups — When a conversation has a Reminder set — auto or manual — Superhuman AI adds a follow-up draft about an hour before the Reminder is set to return.
- Responses — When an email that needs a reply arrives in your inbox, Superhuman AI drafts a response right away so you can send with one click — or edit and send.
- Scheduling — When an email requires finding time with someone, Superhuman AI drafts a reply with your available times as soon as the email arrives.
How does Superhuman AI know which messages need a reply?
Superhuman AI looks at your inbox and automatically identifies emails that need a response — no setup required. If you have the Respond Auto Label enabled, those messages will also receive an Auto Draft so your reply is ready to go. But Auto Drafts for responses work whether or not you use that label.
