Coursework Helper user guide

The Coursework Helper agent organizes a student’s assignments and deadlines across multiple courses by connecting through the Canvas connector in Go. It helps students plan their week, study for exams, and identify the next step to complete assignments on time.

Note: The Coursework Helper agent is currently available in beta to Free and Pro users through the Superhuman Go browser extension for Google Chrome and at go.superhuman.com. We’re rolling out this agent’s features gradually. Please contact the Customer Care team with any related questions.

Getting started

Note: If you have chosen the Student role when creating your account, the Coursework Helper agent will be pre-installed for you.

In Canvas

If you have Superhuman Go up and running, you’ll see a prompt to install the Coursework Helper agent when you log in to your Canvas account. Click Open agent:
Click Agents in the upper-left corner and add the agent if it’s not listed there. Look for Coursework Helper.
Once you select Coursework Helper, the agent will pull all available assignments and information from your Canvas account to provide suggestions and next steps.

In the Superhuman Go browser extension

Open the Superhuman Go browser extension for Google Chrome and click the menu icon in the upper-left corner:
In the Agents section, click See more. In the menu that appears, select Browse Agents and search for the Coursework Helper agent in the search field that opens next:
Click Open. Read the details on how the agent works and handles your data in the window that opens next, then click Open agent.
Finalize the installation by configuring the Canvas connector in the window that opens next. Open Canvas in another tab and sign in as usual, or go straight there using your school’s address.
Click Done. Once completed, you’re all set!

On the Superhuman Go home page

Go to go.superhuman.com and click the menu icon in the upper-left corner:
In the Agents section, click See more. In the menu that appears, select Browse Agents and search for the Coursework Helper agent in the search field that opens next:
Click Open. Read the details on how the agent works and handles your data in the window that opens next, then click Open agent.
Finalize the installation by configuring the Canvas connector in the window that opens next. Open Canvas in another tab and sign in as usual, or go straight there using your school’s address.
Click Done. Once completed, you’re all set!

How to use Coursework Helper

Once you install the Coursework Helper agent, you can tailor it to your current needs. The Suggested tasks section suggests tasks based on your coursework. The All coursework section determines a list of tasks based on the set deadlines. The agent shows you only the relevant upcoming tasks. You don’t need to add your courses to the Coursework Helper manually, as the Canvas connector automatically connects all tasks.

How to deactivate the Coursework Helper agent and delete the synced data

You can disconnect the Canvas connector in the Coursework Helper agent settings and delete all synced data at any time.

Click the settings icon in the upper-right corner of the agent menu.
Coursework agent settings will open in a new tab. To delete your data, click the three dots icon (⋮) and choose Remove.

FAQs

Where is the Coursework Helper agent available?

Students must use Canvas at their school to access Coursework Helper’s full capabilities. Students can use Coursework Helper in their preferred browser extension or in the Go web app.

What type of data does the agent access? Is the student’s course data stored or pulled live from Canvas?

The data is synced to the Superhuman servers. The agent follows strict security protocols. It only connects to declared domains, never accesses your login details, and runs in isolated environments. You can always check for more details in Superhuman Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What consent do students give?

Students connect their Canvas account through a flow that explains what the Coursework Helper agent can read, requests consent, and shows what data it can access. Students can see connection status and delete synced data by deactivating the agent.

Does Superhuman train on student or Canvas data?

No. Superhuman does not train on data ingested from Canvas.

Does the agent use data from other connectors like Gmail or Calendar?

Only if the student connects them separately. Gmail and Calendar aren’t part of the Coursework Helper agent’s setup, but the agent can use any of the connectors the student has authorized, so that Canvas data could flow to those apps. For example, the Coursework Helper agent can keep track of assignment deadlines in your Calendar.

Does the agent have access to my login credentials in Canvas?

No. Configuring the Canvas connector only lets Superhuman Go read your courses, assignments, and deadlines. It does not have access to your login credentials. Canvas connector will never submit, post, or change anything without permission.

Does the Coursework Helper agent work with other academic learning management systems?

Currently, the agent works only with Canvas.
