Connect Glean to Superhuman

Superhuman Connectors let you bring the tools your organization already uses directly into Superhuman. With the Glean connector, you can use Superhuman to search your organization’s knowledge — documents, tickets, conversations, and anything else Glean indexes — without leaving your workspace.

Each person connects with their own Glean account, so everyone only ever sees what they already have permission to see in Glean.

Note: The Glean connector is only available to customers on our Enterprise tier. You must be an Enterprise admin to complete the setup and configuration steps outlined in this article.

Before you begin

You’ll need:

  • A Glean instance with the MCP server enabled. Ask your Glean administrator to confirm this is turned on for your organization.
  • Your Glean backend URL. Find it at app.glean.com/admin/about-glean under Server instance (QE). It typically follows the pattern company-be.glean.com, but may be different if your organization uses a custom domain.
  • Admin access in Superhuman to configure the connector.

Configure the connector in Superhuman

  1. Go to the Connectors page.
  2. In the search field in the upper-right corner, enter Glean, then click on the Glean connector to start configuring it.
  3. On the page that opens, click on the menu next to Connector access and select Custom.

  5. In the Configurations section, click Edit to change the existing configuration, or click + Add Configuration below to create a new one.

  6. Enter or edit the configuration name, then under Groups with access, choose whether the configuration applies to everyone or to selected groups.
  7. In the Permissions section, click Edit JSON.
  8. In the form that appears, enter your Glean backend URL in the following format: {"connection": {"endpoint": {"url": "https://<your-tenant>-be.glean.com"}}}
  9. Click Save configuration.

Start using the Glean connector in Superhuman Go

Superhuman Go is our AI chat agent, available in the Superhuman browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and in the AI editor at app.grammarly.com. Once the Glean connector is configured, Go can search across your organization’s knowledge in Glean — the documents, messages, tickets, and other content Glean indexes from your company’s apps — and help you work with it in plain language, without leaving the page you’re on.

To start Go in the browser, hover over the right edge of your browser window to reveal the Superhuman tab, then click it to open the chat. You can then ask Go to find and use information from Glean. For example, you can:

  • Search across your company’s knowledge: Ask a question and get an answer pulled from across your connected apps — for example, “What’s our current PTO policy?” or “Where’s the latest onboarding checklist?”
  • Find the right document or resource: Have Go surface the specific doc, wiki page, or ticket you need without hunting through multiple tools.
  • Get up to speed on a topic or project: Ask Go to pull together what’s known about a project, customer, or initiative from the content Glean has indexed.
  • Pull answers into your work: Drop a fact, summary, or link straight into the doc, email, or message you’re drafting.
  • Ask follow-up questions: Refine or dig deeper in a natural back-and-forth, and Go keeps the context from earlier in the conversation.

Because Go uses the context of your active window and connected sources, you can also click Add sources to chat to point it at the right course or page before asking your question. Go searches using your own Glean account, so it can only surface content you already have permission to see in Glean.
