Grammarly is blocked in a specific app in your Grammarly app settings
To resolve this, follow these steps:
- Open the Grammarly companion app on your Android device.
- Tap Blocked apps to access the list of applications where Grammarly is blocked.
- You can selectively unblock Grammarly for specific apps by switching the corresponding toggles off.
Android OS version compatibility issues
Check your Android OS version. If it’s older than Android 13, Grammarly for Android might not work due to app compatibility issues.
You are typing in an app that belongs to a restricted category
To prevent disruptions, Grammarly for Android is deactivated in apps that belong to the following categories:
- Financial (e.g., PayPal, Google Wallet)
- Streaming (e.g., YouTube, Twitch)
- Medical
