With the beta release of multilingual suggestions, users can now get real-time writing support in over 20 additional languages — making it easier than ever to communicate clearly, no matter which language you’re using.

Grammarly automatically detects when you’re writing in one of these languages and provides helpful feedback for spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes. You’ll see familiar red underlines wherever spelling, punctuation, or grammar corrections are needed—just like in English. Blue underlines that indicate fluency, clarity, and conciseness improvements are currently available for Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
Multilingual suggestions are supported in:

- Grammarly for Windows
- Browser extensions (Chrome, Safari, Edge)
- Docs, our new AI writing surface
- Grammarly for iOS
- Grammarly for Android
This beta is available to Grammarly Pro, Grammarly Plus, Grammarly Business, and Grammarly for Education users. Some features are also available to Grammarly Free users.

How to use
To use multilingual suggestions:
- Start writing in any supported language.
- If Grammarly detects spelling or grammar issues, it will highlight them automatically with red underlines.
- Click the underlined word or phrase to view suggestions.
- Click on the text to accept the suggestion or click Dismiss to decline it.
How to turn off
Grammarly Pro and Grammarly Plus users can turn off the option to see multilingual suggestions on the Your preferences page by switching off the toggles for Correct more languages and Improve overall quality in more languages:
