We built the Coda for Google Chrome extension to make using Coda a more integrated experience. Once installed, the Chrome extension can be used to easily bookmark web pages to Coda tables, and to prevent opening multiple tabs of the same doc. Read on to learn more.

Install the Coda Chrome extension
To install the Coda browser extension for Chrome, just follow these steps while in Chrome:
Visit the Chrome extension web store
Enter “Coda” in the search bar
Select Coda browser extension from the options
Click the Add to Chrome button, then click Add extension to confirm
Now the Coda Browser Extension has been added to your Chrome extensions.
💡 We recommend pinning this extension for easy access. To do so, just click on the puzzle piece icon in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser, find the Coda Browser Extension, and click the pin icon to its right.
Add bookmarks to tables
You can bookmark any web page to any Coda table in a Coda doc. This can be helpful in generating a table of useful bookmarks for easy future access. To start adding bookmarks, follow these steps.
Once you are on the page you would like to bookmark, go to the right of your Chrome address bar and click the orange Coda logo. A menu titled Bookmark this webpage should appear.
Fill in all of the available fields, including title of the bookmark, Coda doc, table in that doc, and the columns you want to use for this new bookmark info. Click Bookmark when done.
That’s it. You should now see a new row added to the Coda table that you selected, with both the name of the bookmarked page and the URL.
Enforce one tab per doc
The Coda browser extension also comes with the ability to open a doc in only one tab. This means that if you already have your doc open in a tab, you’ll automatically be taken to that open tab when opening any new links to that doc.
To enable tab handling, click on the orange Coda logo at the right of your address bar. Then, click on the gear icon in the top right and switch on the first toggle (titled Open one tab per doc).
