Examples, tips, and tricks
You can do a lot with Slack and Docs - import Slack messages (and all their info) into Docs, send messages from a doc, automate reminders for your team, and more
In this section, we’ll introduce some common applications for the Slack Pack. But you can check out the guide here for all the Slack bells and whistles.
Pull a Slack message into a table in Superhuman Docs
With the Message column building block, you can get all the important info about a given Slack message with only the URL. You can even create a table with whichever message attributes you need.
Change the column type to a Slack Message column.
Copy the URL from a Slack message by clicking the three-dot menu on any channel.
Paste the link into the column. It will automatically convert to a more detailed reference.
Once you have your message in a table, you can extract any of its information by hovering over the message, then clicking the Add button next to the information you want to create a column for.
Alternatively, you can paste the link into the canvas of a doc to get a clickable card that visualizes the message.
Send Slack messages
Perhaps the most common use case of the Slack Pack is sending Slack messages right from your doc. You can create buttons that allow you to manually send messages. And even better - you can set up automations that automatically send messages at certain times or when certain criteria are met 😎 Learn all about sending Slack messages via Superhuman Docs here.
See all users in your Slack workspace
Maybe you’re in IT and want to see a table of all users in your Slack workspace. No problem - you can easily pull this into your doc. Just type /users into a blank line of your doc, and select the Users table from the dropdown. You can then choose which Slack account to use to pull this data, as well as make other adjustments to the sync table. Then hit Sync now to fill your table.
