Learn about AI credits, what's included for your plan, and how to purchase additional credits. Plus read about our AI free trial.

Now that Coda has become Superhuman Docs, we've announced the launch of our new AI experience: Docs AI. Starting July 6th, we've also paused the previous Coda AI credit system and packages. While Docs AI in beta, its usage is based on significantly more generous limits - making the previous credit system unnecessary for this period. Learn more below.

What’s changing with AI credits

With the launch of Docs AI, the Coda AI credit system is being paused. During the course of the beta, Docs AI will use a simpler model based on your role and plan:
Who you are
AI access
Paid Doc Makers
AI in docs included with generous limits. Limits are designed to prevent abuse and protect performance, not to restrict normal use.
Editors & Free users
Access to a limited free trial to try AI in docs.
AI columns and blocks can still be used, but crediting will be paused for these features. Granular admin controls for AI credits are also paused during this period.

What happens to your existing AI credits

If your workspace has purchased add-on AI credits, we’ve automatically paused your subscription and stopped billing. You will receive a pro-rated account credit for any unused AI credits or time in your current billing cycle.

What’s next

We’re using feedback and usage data from the Docs AI beta to inform how credits will workevolve going forward. We expect to reintroduce a new credit system around in August. We’ll update this article when that happens.

FAQs

Can I still use AI columns and AI blocks?

Yes, AI columns and AI blocks continue to work. Credit limits for these features are paused alongside the broader credit system, so they won’t count against a credit balance during this period.

What happened to admin controls for AI credits?

Admin controls for AI credits - including daily caps - are paused while the credit system is on hold. We’ll reintroduce controls alongside the new credit system when it launches.
