If you have a Gmail account, you can use labels in Superhuman Mail to quickly categorize or store important information 🏷️

Accessing Labels

There are several ways to access your labels.Β 

DesktopΒ 

a. From the main inbox, hit the left arrow key to see your labels.Β 

b. Hit Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows)Β β†’ go to [label].

MobileΒ 

a. From the main inbox, pull downΒ from the top of the inbox, then swipe rightΒ to open Superhuman Command β€” like you're making an "L." Type go to [label].Β 

b. When viewing a conversation,Β pull downΒ from the top of the inbox to open Superhuman Command, then type go to [label].

Adding a labelΒ 

DesktopΒ 

  1. Select the message you would like to label, then hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K β†’ Label or L.
  2. Type the name of an existing label or type a new label name to create one.Β 

The labeled message will stay in your inbox, with the label displayed next to the subject line.

MobileΒ 

  1. Tap the message you would like to label.
  2. Pull downΒ from the top of the inbox to open Superhuman Command.
  3. Type Label.Β 
  4. Tap the desired label or tap the βž• to create a new label.Β 

This will label the message and keep it in the inbox.Β 

Removing a Label (without Archiving)

Desktop

  1. Select the message with the label you’d like to remove, then hit Cmd+K orΒ Ctrl+KΒ β†’ Label or L.
  2. Type the name of the label you'd like to remove.Β 

This will remove the label and keep the message in your inbox.

MobileΒ 

  1. Tap the message with the label you'd like to remove.Β 
  2. Pull downΒ from the top of the inboxΒ to open Superhuman Command.Β 
  3. Type Label.
  4. Tap the label you'd like to remove.

This will remove the label and keep the message in your inbox.Β 

Removing a Label (and Archiving)

DesktopΒ 

  1. Select the message with the label you’d like to remove.
  2. Hit Cmd+K orΒ Ctrl+KΒ β†’ Remove from Label or Shift+Y to remove a label and archive a message simultaneously.

This will remove the label and archive the message into the Done folder. To access the Done folder, hit Cmd+K orΒ Ctrl+KΒ β†’ go to Done or G then E.

MobileΒ 

  1. Tap the message with the label you'd like to remove.Β 
  2. Pull downΒ from the top of the inbox to open Superhuman Command.Β 
  3. Type Remove from Label.

This will remove the label and archive the message into the Done folder. To access the Done folder,Β pull downΒ from the top of the inbox to open Superhuman Command, then type and tapΒ go to Done.Β 

Moving a message into a Label

Desktop

  1. Select the message you would like to move from your inbox into a label.Β 
  2. Hit Cmd+K orΒ Ctrl+KΒ β†’ Move or V.
  3. Type the name of an existing label or type a new label name to create one.Β 

This will apply the label and move the message from your inbox into the label. This is equivalent to labeling a conversation and marking it Done at the same time.Β

MobileΒ 

  1. Tap the message you would like to move from your inbox into a label.Β 
  2. Pull downΒ from the top of the inbox to open Superhuman Command.Β 
  3. Type Move.Β 
  4. Tap the desired label or tap the βž• to create a new label.Β 

This will apply the label and move the message from your inbox into the label.Β 

Deleting LabelsΒ 

To delete a label on Desktop or Mobile, you would need to head to Gmail for the time being.Β 

FAQs

Can I use labels in my Outlook account?Β 

There isn't a way to create labels using Cmd+K or Ctrl+K β†’ Label, however, you can use Auto Labels.Β
