Setting a Reminder

- Hit Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) → Remind Me or H. When writing a draft, hit Cmd+Shift+H or Ctrl+Shift+H.
- Type the day and time you want the Reminder to return to the inbox.
The Reminder is removed from the inbox and stored in the Reminders folder. At it's scheduled time, it will return to the top of the inbox with a purple dot.
💡 Tip: Take your productivity to the next level with Auto Reminders.
Mobile
There are two ways to set a Reminder on Mobile:
- From the main inbox, swipe right on the message you want to set a Reminder for. Choose one of the suggested times or tap pick date & time to customize your Reminder.
- In an open message, tap 🕓 in the triage bar at the bottom. Tap one of the suggested times or tap pick date & time to customize your Reminder.
The Reminder will return to the top of your inbox with a purple dot at its scheduled time. Until then, it’s removed from your inbox and stored in the Reminders folder.
💡 Tip: When setting a day or time on Mobile, tap on desktop to have the Reminder appear at the top of your inbox when you log in on Desktop.
If no reply
Reminders default to if no reply, meaning if no recipient responds, the Reminder will return to the top of your inbox at the scheduled time so you can follow up.
To see more options, hit Tab when setting a Reminder.
Regardless
When a Reminder is set to regardless, the email will return at the scheduled time regardless of whether someone replies or not.

- Click Reminders.
- Click Turn on Split Inbox.

FAQs
What happens when someone replies to a message before the Reminder is set to return?
If the Reminder was set to if no reply, the newest response will land in your inbox, and the Reminder will be canceled. If the Reminder was set to return regardless, then the newest response will land in your inbox, and the Reminder will still return at the scheduled date and time.
How do I edit or remove a Reminder?
- Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → go to Reminders or G then H.
- Hover over the Reminder you would like to edit or remove.
- Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Remind Me or H.
- To edit the Reminder, type the new day and time.
- To remove the Reminder, select Remove Reminder & Move to Inbox — this will move the thread back into your inbox.
How do I change the default Reminder?
Hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Reminder Settings and make your edits under Default Reminder.
What happens when I set a Reminder for "someday"?
Reminders set to "someday" will not return to the inbox — they will remain in the Reminders folder until the Reminder is removed.
Can I set Reminders on drafts?
You can only set Reminders on drafts in existing conversations. There isn't a way to set Reminders for drafts in a new conversation.
Why isn’t my returned Reminder showing in Important or Other?
That’s by design. When a Reminder returns on a thread that hasn’t received any new messages since you set it, the Reminders Split Inbox keeps it out of Important and Other, so your main inbox stays focused. You’ll find it in your Reminders Split Inbox instead.
Prefer the old behavior? Click ⚙️ Settings → Split Inbox to turn off the Reminders Split Inbox. Returned Reminders will reappear in Important or Other.
My returned Reminder is showing in both the Reminders Split Inbox and Important. Is that a bug?
Nope — that’s expected. When a thread gets new messages after you set a Reminder, it appears in both the Reminders Split Inbox and Important or Other, so you don’t miss the new activity. The Reminders Split Inbox only removes a thread from Important or Other when the Reminder is the sole reason it’s back in your inbox.
Can I rename the Reminders Split Inbox or change how it works?
The Reminders Split Inbox is a built-in template, so it can’t be renamed or edited — and there’s no toggle to show it in Important or Other. It’s designed this way to keep returned Reminders cleanly separated from the rest of your inbox.
If you’d rather have more control, click ⚙️ Settings → Split Inbox to turn off the Reminders Split Inbox, and use this search to find returned Reminders manually: from:reminder@superhuman.com in:inbox
What’s the difference between the Reminders folder and the Reminders Split Inbox?
Same name, different jobs:
- The Reminders folder (in your left sidebar) shows pending Reminders — ones you’ve set that haven’t fired yet.
- The Reminders Split Inbox shows returned Reminders — threads that have come back to your inbox because a Reminder fired.
I turned off the Reminders Split Inbox. Where do my returned Reminders go now?
They’ll appear wherever they would have before — Important, Other, or any custom Split Inbox the thread matches. You can also find them anytime with this search: from:reminder@superhuman.com in:inbox
