Customizing Swipes and Triage Bar

Taking action on a message in Superhuman Mail is so easy you don't even have to open it! Just swipe on the message from the inbox to take action. By default, swiping left will mark a message as Done, and swiping right will set a Reminder.

While Superhuman Mail (and Beyonce or Tinder) might want you to swipe to the left to archive something, sometimes it's easier for you to go right. Fortunately, you can customize what actions are associated with which swipe!

You can even customize your triage bar at the bottom of a message for when you do need to open it 🙌

How to customize swipe actions

  1. Pull down from the top of the inbox, then swipe right — like you're making an "L" —  to open Superhuman Command.
  2. In the modal that appears, type Swipes.
  3. Tap Swipe to Right Settings or Swipe to Left Settings depending on what you're looking to customize.
  4. Tap the green plus signs and the red minus signs to add and remove actions.
  5. To reorder your ACTIVE actions, press and hold the three bars on the right to drag and drop the actions in the order you prefer:

How to customize your triage bar

When you open a message, you'll notice a bar at the bottom with various triage options to the left:

FAQs

Why are the actions at the bottom of my triage bar cut off?

Our intention around having the triage bar cut off was so you could see there were more options available if you swipe. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
