Read Statuses and Recent Opens Feed

With Read Statuses and the Recent Opens Feed, you can see exactly when your messages have been opened, making follow-ups faster and more effective.

Read Statuses

Use Read Statuses to close high-value deals, hire the best candidates, and collaborate more effectively with your team.

Desktop

To turn on Read Statuses, hit Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) → Enable Read Statuses.

Once you open a conversation, you can view additional details — such as the time, device, and each person who opened the message — in two places:

1. Mouse over the checkmarks to the right of an email's header.

2. Mouse over the Read Status under the bottom corner of the conversation’s last message.

To turn Read Statuses off, hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Disable Read Statuses.

 Mobile 

To turn on Read Statuses:

  1. Pull down from the top of the inbox, then swipe right to open Superhuman Command — like you're making an "L."
  2. Type Read Statuses Settings.
  3. Toggle Read Statuses for your desired account(s).

You can find them under the bottom right corner of a message:

Tap the Read Status to see additional details about the read message:

Recent Opens Feed (Business & Enterprise Plans)

You can see a realtime feed of people opening your emails. See when you’re top of mind, and follow up with perfect timing!

Desktop

Click Settings → Recent Opens to see a list of recently opened messages.

Click any email link in the sidebar to jump straight to the conversation and see full context, including individual Read Statuses.

Mobile (iOS)

To see a list of recently opened messages:

  1. Pull down from the top of the inbox, then swipe right — like you're making an "L" — to open Superhuman Command.
  2. Type go to Opens (Recent Opens).

Tap any email link on the list to jump straight to the conversation and see full context, including individual Read Statuses.

FAQs

Do I need to enable Read Statuses for each account I am logged into Superhuman Mail with?

Yes, Mail's Read Statuses are enabled on a per-account basis.

Do I need to send an email with Superhuman Mail for it to be tracked?

Yes, Read Statuses will only work if an email is sent using Mail and not any other email client.

Can I block others from seeing Read Statuses for me?

Yes, you can hit Cmd+K or Ctrl+K → Image Settings and choose Block all known tracking pixels to block others from seeing your Read Statuses.

Can I receive notifications when someone opens my email?

No, it’s not possible to receive a notification yet. This is something we’d like to build in the future though!

As of now, you’ll need to check your sent message or the Recent Opens feed to see when someone opens your email.
